Just got home from a wonderful time at the Yule Farm in Palmer, Alaska for a 3 day basketry workshop. What a great group and a fun time!
Got to hang with some old friends from my days at BP Oil (now that's a long time ago) as well as some old weaving students and of course met some new weaving pals at class as well.
A lot of these students were brand new to basket making. Two we talked into attending when they were out on their daily walk and happened by us weaving away in the glorious weather of an Alaskan summer.
All of them did FANTASTIC work and some of them were just outstanding for first time basket makers.
I know the class members we're inspired because I came home with a backpack FULL of salmon. Some smoked and some fresh but all are a very big ALASKAN THANK YOU and I understand the language.
Thank you YULE FARM for bringing me back home to Alaska. I hadn't realized I missed the people, the mountains, and the hospitality so much.
