One of the most common complaints I hear from customers is WHY does it cost SO MUCH to ship my order? Well, one of the most obvious reasons is I live in North Idaho 30 miles from the Canadian border far, far, away from the maddening crowds and unfortunately...you don't. It's great for me living near Lake Pend O'Reille surrounded by three mountain ranges but not so much for my customers when it comes to shipping.
We've been a big proponent of the USPS for several years but after much deliberation we've decided to bring UPS on board for our shipping needs.
We're currently using a multi-carrier shipping service that automatically gives customers the best shipping rate available but it also offers USPS and UPS rates in case you need something in a hurry or you have a post office box that UPS does not ship to.
How does it work?
Let's say your interested in grabbing a snowshoe kit to weave up for holiday gifts. That's a LARGE box to ship and we only ship them via UPS. Let's also say you live in Augusta, Maine a long way from North Idaho.
When you head to the checkout page your order will look like this:
Notice it takes the cheapest shipping and automatically adds this to your order. But if you click the drop down menu on shipping you can now see ALL the options on how to ship. So how does this help the bottom line? It makes a MAJOR difference as you can tell by the above example.
Just think how much you'll SAVE on shipping on all your orders?
