The Double Dog Leg is an original design by Jill Choate.
The Double Dog Leg is zig-zag basket of color topped with an antler hoop rim. Utilizes the stack/spiral technique with some movement by moving the design to the right and left. It was inspired by baskets designs from African and adapted to twined techniques.
The story behind the name: The name of the Double Dog Leg came from listening to the book on tape, "The Legend of Bagger Vance", in a cabin during a snowy winter in the Alaskan bush. There I discovered the term "dog leg" from the world of golf. Seeing that there were two dog legs in this particular basket the term stuck and the basket became the Double Dog Leg.
