(This bundle includes the kit, pattern and video tutorial. This is a fantastic option if you are newer to twill and need more assistance in your weaving.)
A year ago I had a dream of Spider Woman weaving away in her Hogan (traditional Navajo home). As I looked at her weaving, I noticed some of her warp strings were descending to the side into a basket. That is when I noticed the pattern. I asked her, "Why are your strings incorporated in the basket?" She said, "You will need to weave this basket, to remind people that we may all be different colors, pieces, and textures, but together we weave one whole piece."
I woke up from that dream with that design in my head where its ruminated for months. I have always dreamt of taking traditional designs from one nation and applying it with anthers colors. This basket is steeped in traditional Cherokee design (with a twist) and contrasted with traditional Haida and Tlingit colors.
