Beginner Basket Course Part 1

For years students asked me where to find good basketry resources—and I kept coming up empty. Plenty of books have hand-drawn diagrams, but almost nothing exists for visual learners. That’s why I created this series, starting with basket fundamentals: reed sizes, how to read a pattern, and recommended tools. This first installment covers those essentials and leads directly into Parts Two and Three, which focus on bases, weaving techniques, and rimming.
