Beginners Basket Course Part 2

If you’re anything like me, written patterns and static illustrations just don’t cut it. I’ve been a visual learner since adolescence and struggled to find video resources for basketry—everything was a written pattern or in a book.

Knitting has endless tutorials on YouTube; I decided basketry deserved the same. So I created a beginner’s course that fills that gap. It’s packed with clear, hands-on video lessons, tips and tricks, and everything you need to complete your first woven project with confidence—no hiding that "first" basket behind fake flowers in the corner.

This module is all about the base (yes, like the song). You’ll learn the tips and tricks of weaving a beginner-friendly cathead base and how to make the ears “pop” without stress. I’ll show you how to weave and design your own chicken-foot base with an opt in Cherokee cross pattern that’s sure to impress. Finally, I’ll share pro techniques for weaving AND reinforcing a slotted wooden base basket—perfect for loading up those sourdough loaves from the farmers’ market (because I know you’ll load up ASAP).
