The hummingbird is dear to me—maybe because it conjures summers with my mom, zipping through Alaska’s mountains under the frantic midnight sun. Thirty-five years later, not much has changed except the scenery: now we dart around with that same color-fueled frenzy in Sandpoint, ID and along the West Coast.
This mini backpack is made for the beginner weaver who still wants something steeped in traditional craft and true functionality, and who definitely doesn’t read basic bitch. It’s a perfect first weaving project, with an optional fancy rim for a long weekend at a cabin with friends. And for the clan that isn’t into color (we love you — you can still sit at the campfire, just bring the s’mores), there’s a black-and-white version: the same basket, without the rainbow.
